COMPANY OVERVIEW

The company is strategically positioned as a pan-African Independent Power Producer (IPP). The company was established to fulfil the energy need caused by erratic power supply in Zimbabwe. Its aim was to provide sustainable power supply solutions to the national and regional grid. This will be achieved through its robust portfolio of renewable and non-renewable energy projects.  Lafrica Energy is in the process of setting up a 750MW thermal power plant in Hwange implemented in 2 phases of 150MW and 600 MW. The first phase of  150MW is fully licensed. Lafrica is also developing 3 * 50MW Solar PV plants in Hwange, Chegutu and Bulawayo. Each site is scalable up to 200MW. All the sites are fully licenses, permits are in place and sites are ready for construction

The company’s power generation energy mix comprises of 55% non-renewable energy and 45% renewable energy sources. Lafrica intends to tip the scale in favour of renewable energy in line with global international practice. Private offtake agreements have been concluded in competitive currency terms for both local and regional supply.
