Our History
Lafrica Logistics was established in 2018 as an internal transport solution for the growing logistics needs within the Group. The initial fleet was assembled in 2017 as a transport solution for the groups’ mining operations.
Lafrica Logistics was one of the first logistics company in the country to offer self-tipping trucks in Zimbabwe to its Coal Mining operations. These self-tipping trucks removed the need for manual labour to offload coal loads upon delivery at sites thereby reducing lead times significantly. As other coal mines across the country heard of this innovation, they required this unique service from Lafrica Logistics.

What We Do
Grand Railway Solutions was established to provide a sustainable and efficient logistics backbone for Dinson Iron and Steel Plant in Manhize and the wider African mining sector.
The Company is spearheading a transformative rail logistics model that directly supports the movement of minerals and steel across Zimbabwe and the continent with an ambitious target fleet of 21 locomotives and 2,500 wagons.
Railway transport is efficient and effective when operated properly. Our strength lies in provision of rolling stock and its maintenance on a profitable business case while we leave infrastructure and other services to public operators who have the mandate and better capacity to run those.
Our Promise
By modernising and expanding Africa’s rail capacity, Grand Railway Solutions is ensuring that the continent’s vast natural resources are transported reliably, efficiently and sustainable to international markets.
With that capacity Grand Railway solutions will also provide railway capacity to imports as we offload at the ports leading to lower railway costs for both imports and exports.
Grand Railway Solutions is still a developing project now at licencing/Authorisation stage while funding facilities are also being put in place. Collaboration efforts in this venture are welcome.
